Our story
Many small days
We met on a walk through the ravines up in the mountains. Marcos was explaining to the group how the layers of rock are formed; Laura raised her hand and asked whether the thinnest ones were the good years or the bad ones. He didn’t know.
Nine years, two house moves and many Sundays in Tejeda later, we are still trying to find out. Along the way we have learnt that what matters almost never arrives all at once: it settles, little by little, like stone.
That is why we are going back up the mountain to get married, where it all began. And we want you to be there.
There was no single great moment. There were many small ones, one on top of another.

- By car: from the airport, just over an hour along the mountain road. There is parking at the estate.
- By coach: we’re laying one on from Las Palmas (see “Practical information”).

What to wear
Stone colours
Evening formal. We suggest the tones of rock and mother-of-pearl, in light fabrics that move with the mountain air.
Block heels or flat shoes: the ceremony is on the stone threshing floor. We kindly ask you not to wear white.

Getting to the island
Gran Canaria airport has direct flights from many cities. From there, the mountains are just over an hour’s drive. Guide information only.

Coach
It will leave Las Palmas de Gran Canaria at 16:30 and return at 1:00 and 2:30. Sample times.

Mountain weather
Sunny by day, around twenty-five degrees; it gets quite cool in the evening. Bring a wrap or a jacket for the night.
